Trick or Treating Safety Tips

Here are a few tips to help you stay safe on Halloween, when trick or treating.

  • Take a flashlight.
  • Always trick or treat in groups of three or more.
  • Only approach houses that are lit.
  • Never enter an unfamiliar home.
  • Stay in familiar neighborhoods.
  • Walk don't run.
  • Stay on sidewalks.
  • If there is no sidewalk walk on the left side of the road facing traffic.
  • Obey all traffic signals.
  • You must assume that vehicles DO NOT SEE YOU.
  • Do not cut across yards or driveways.
  • Make sure your costumes do not drag on the ground.
  • Do not approach or pet unfamiliar animals
  • Do not eat candy until your parents have checked it.
